Pre-purchase vehicle inspections
Thinking about buying a used vehicle? I can inspect it where it’s parked and explain what I find, so you can decide with better information.
This is a visual and functional inspection. It isn’t a guarantee against hidden or future mechanical problems.
Common concerns
- Whether there are problems the seller didn’t mention
- Leaks, warning lights, noises or worn parts
- Signs of collision damage or earlier repairs
- Repairs the vehicle may need soon
What the inspection generally covers
What I can check depends on the vehicle and where it is. Generally, as applicable:
- Vehicle identification and mileage
- Engine condition and visible leaks
- Transmission operation
- Cooling system condition
- Braking system
- Steering and suspension
- Tires and visible wear
- Battery and charging system
- Fluid condition
- Warning lights, and a computer diagnostic scan
- Visual evidence of collision damage or previous repairs
- A road test, where it’s safe and the seller permits it
- Overall mechanical condition and the repairs I’d recommend
What helps me give you an estimate
- Year, make, model and mileage, or the VIN
- The listing, if there is one
- Where the vehicle is, and when the seller can make it available
- Anything you’re already concerned about
What affects the price
- The vehicle
- Where it is located
I don’t publish a fixed price for inspections. Contact me for an inspection quote. I explain what I find, with photos when they help, so you can decide whether to buy, negotiate or walk away.
Coverage
I work in Cypress, Houston and nearby areas, every day from 9 AM to 7 PM. Not sure I come to you? Text me your ZIP code.
How to request this service
Send a request with your vehicle and where it’s parked, or call or text me. Sending a request doesn’t book a visit or commit you to pay anything; I’ll review it and contact you to confirm the details and a time.
