No-start diagnostics in Cypress and Houston
When a vehicle won’t crank or won’t start, the fix depends on which system has failed. Replacing parts until it starts gets expensive.
I come to where the vehicle is parked, find the cause first, and tell you what it needs before replacing anything.
Common concerns
- It clicks but won’t crank
- It cranks but won’t start
- No power at all, or the battery keeps going dead
- It starts sometimes, or shuts off while running
- It dies again soon after a jump start
What I do
- I test the battery and its connections, the starting circuit and the charging system.
- I work out whether the problem is in starting, fuel or ignition, and narrow it to the part or connection that has failed.
- I explain the cause and give you a written estimate. Nothing gets repaired until you approve it.
What helps me give you an estimate
- Year, make and model, or the VIN
- What happens when you turn the key or press start: a click, a crank, or nothing
- Any warning lights, and when the problem started
- Recent repairs or a new battery
- Where the vehicle is parked
What affects the price
- What actually failed
- The part needed and its availability
- How much work it takes to reach that part on your vehicle
This is diagnostic work: the diagnostic visit is $90, and if you authorize the repair, the $90 is credited toward it.
A real example
When I tell you a lifesaver! I went to two shops and they told me it was just the battery was the reason my car kept shutting off. Matthew listen to what I was saying and figured it out it was the ground cable. Highly recommend and I am so glad my good sis recommended me to him!
Coverage
Standard repairs using parts I supply include six months of coverage on those parts and my installation workmanship, starting when the repair is completed. Customer-supplied parts receive workmanship coverage only. Used engines, transmissions and other major assemblies have separate written warranty terms. Full warranty terms.
I work in Cypress, Houston and nearby areas, every day from 9 AM to 7 PM. Not sure I come to you? Text me your ZIP code.
How to request this service
Send a request with your vehicle and where it’s parked, or call or text me. Sending a request doesn’t book a visit or commit you to pay anything; I’ll review it and contact you to confirm the details and a time.
